About Dr. Mounsey.
Dr Stephen Mounsey is a Consultant Dermatologist at University Hospital Lewisham and an Honorary Consultant at the internationally renowned St John’s Institute of Dermatology at Guy’s and St Thomas’.
He began his career in healthcare by studying Pharmacy at Cardiff University, graduating with first-class honours, and went on to work as a Clinical Pharmacist at the University Hospital of Wales. He later studied Medicine at King’s College London, graduating with distinction, before completing postgraduate training at Guy’s, St Thomas’, and University College London Hospitals. He undertook specialist dermatology training at St John’s Institute of Dermatology.
Dr Mounsey treats adults, adolescents and children for all aspects of general and medical dermatology, including skin cancer. He has a particular interest in inflammatory skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis, with expertise in the use of advanced systemic therapies.
Alongside his clinical practice, Dr Mounsey is actively involved in education and research. He is the Regional Training Programme Director for dermatology in South London and leads undergraduate and postgraduate dermatology education at University Hospital Lewisham. He has contributed to international journals, textbooks and conferences, and has experience across all phases of clinical research, from laboratory science to clinical trials.
